The Social Sector Workers’ Trade Union (SOTSÜ) was founded on October 6, 2021, its statutes were approved, and governing bodies were elected.
Our goal is to create a favorable environment, ensure service quality and satisfaction for all parties involved, include both businesses and institutions, as well as care recipients and their loved ones in discussions, conduct negotiations, collect feedback, and conclude collective agreements. We are convinced that improving working conditions and a fair salary are essential, and that they help retain and preserve employees from recruitment.
Currently, the union seeks to raise awareness of shortcomings and inconsistencies in the sector within society and to increase membership. At the same time, it aims to keep its finger on the pulse of the sector’s development both at the government and European Union levels, and to present its views, make proposals, etc.
Joining is open to everyone who wishes, based on the laws governing trade unions. We bring together care workers, activity managers, support persons, home care workers, assistants, and special education specialists – all paid workers who provide social services. Also welcome to join are cleaners, cooks, and other personnel working in an enterprise providing social services.
